Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang's Bending Masters Ranked

Ranking every mentor Aang had on ATLA Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant Picture the pitch room at Nickelodeon when the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender were trying to communicate their vision. They had to know this journey was going to send shock waves through the world of television. Avatar is truly the most impactful American-made anime in history. None of it’s possible without Aang, a unique protagonist with a clear vision. However, Aang is only part of the equation. You’re here for the teachers and characters that push Aang along and made him the hero we all waited to see. There are characters like Jeong Jeong, Master Pakku, Guru Pathik, and The Dragons that make an outstanding mentorship in only one or two episodes. There’s not a mentor on this list who fails to leave their imprint on Aang. Monk Gyatso is a figure of the past, yet we feel his lessons in Aang’s actions along this journey. There’s not a bad entry here. However, there are levels. Those names above fit in different tiers, but there’s no doubt Aang’s friends Toph, Zuko, and Katara need big spots on this list. Of course, there’s also The Lion Turtle and the shaping of more extensive lore in the world. Avatar fans, you’ve come to the right video. Sit back and enjoy the nostalgia of Aang’s journey to become the Avatar. Well, all of that through the lens of his mentors and their lessons. Also, take note that this list is made from least impactful mentor to most impactful, so it’s a bit different than your standard list. Hopefully, that helps you enjoy this a bit more!
