Check out my full video on German holidays here: https://youtu.be/48Ylg0uc1c8 Germans get to enjoy a long weekend right now because of Pentecost - Pfingsten! 😊 It's a Christian celebration and even though this isn't widely celebrated in Germany, Pentecost Sunday (Pfingstsonntag) and Pentecost Monday (Pfingstmontag) are public holidays in the entire country. Well, technically Pfingstsonntag isn't marked as a federal holiday since every Sunday is treated like a holiday in Germany (stores are closed etc.) but today is an actual public holiday which means everyone gets an additional day off! 🥳 In many states, schools take a break for this occasion as well. In my home state of Bavaria, we always had a two-week long school break for Pentecost. Have you ever heard of Pentecost before? 🤔
