THE GREATEST SHOWMAN vs Bigotry, with Jahannah James (Part 1/2)
Contributed by Cinema Therapy
Whether someone's feeling like they don't fit in (like the performers in P.T. Barnum's shows), or they're feeling judged for not meeting family or societal expectations (like Zac Efron and Zendaya's characters), The Greatest Showman can teach us a thing or two about accepting ourselves and others and combating bigotry. We all need acceptance. And we all need to be accepting. Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright are joined by @Jahannah James (and two enormous circus-sized bags of popcorn) to talk about interracial relationships, finding self acceptance and confidence, and being more accepting of others. And of course they sing along to some incredible songs from The Greatest Showman. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we dive deeper into the romantic relationships in The Greatest Showman!
