Man, that’s still weird to say and I’m not even sure I believe it! Like the project will release in March, but I’ll still be tweeting out #ReleaseTheSnyderCut every week or so because at this point, it’s tradition! But yes, overall the bell has been rung! There’s no stopping it now and we’ll finally get to see Zack Snyder’s original vision for the project, with a few altered story beats and new footage. One of the most exciting things about this cut of the movie is that we’re finally going to get to see the Black Suit Superman in action. And not just for a short time either as it looks like Clark Kent will be donning the darker duds for most of the movie! This is a monumental moment, mainly because the Black Suit means so many things both literally and thematically. In the comics, the Black Suit serves two roles. After the Death of Superman comic arc where Doomsday killed Superman, Supes came back and the Black Suit acted as sort of a Regeneration Suit that helped him recover. It also symbolized his next steps of earning the red and blue colors again by becoming Earth’s Greatest Hero after his deadly defeat. Now Zack Snyder’s Justice League has the time and the ability to follow a similar arc. Without a studio breathing down Snyder’s neck to make Superman more fun and cheerful, Snyder is able to take his time with Superman’s post-resurrection attitude. He’ll wear the Black Suit as he transitions back into the land of the living and will presumably wear it in his final fight with Steppenwolf. I mean, he’s wearing it in the scene where he talks with Alfred in the Batcave so it would make sense that he keeps it on for the remainder of the movie!
