There’s so much more to it than a crew pointing a bunch of cameras at an actor and hoping they don’t forget their lines. And some of the biggest hurdles are the age-old problem of continuity, and of making sure you can’t actually tell you’re looking at a set in the modern day. In every shot you see, someone has worked their butt off to make sure there isn’t a cell phone lying around in plain sight in your wild west saloon, that the baby looks real and not just like a plastic doll, or that that plate of food doesn’t keep refilling itself every time someone takes a massive bite of their meal.
