Peacemaker: Everything We Know About The Suicide Squad Spinoff

Everything you need to know about John Cena's new HBO series Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant With the coming of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in 2021, a spin-off for John Cena’s character, “Peacemaker”, has already been announced to be released on HBO Max! Clearly this seems to be an indication of the character being a standout in the movie! But who IS Peacemaker? The character’s been described as a pacifist diplomat who became SO obsessed with the idea of peace that he’d kill anyone in his way to achieve it. Now, that’s an oxymoron if I ever heard one. He’s a weapons expert that has access to all sorts of advanced weaponry, and a funky helmet that’s basically Batman’s utility belt in headpiece form. The basis of his character was actually a major inspiration for The Comedian in Alan Moore’s Watchmen! Gunn’s iteration of the character has been deemed a “Douchey Captain America” by John Cena, and if THAT’S not enough to sell you on the character, I don’t know what will! Gunn also has a knack for taking on rather unknown properties, which allows him to add his own signature spin to it! The series is confirmed to be set in the DCEU, like The Suicide Squad, and is reported to be an origin story for Peacemaker. Known casting includes Chris Conrad as Vigilante, Steve Agee as John Economos, Danielle Brookes as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith. While some of these characters are relatively unknown, there will likely be more info to come out in the coming months, as The Suicide Squad nears release!
