10 Characters Secretly Modeled After Celebrities

Aladdin was actually drawn with Tom Cruise in mind Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant The dream factory of Hollywood never sleeps. So much talent, creative minds, and big-budget visual feasts help to give our lives a little meaning, enjoyment and transport us briefly to other worlds. Inspiration begets inspiration. And there's no shortage of X Characters that have been modelled after celebrities. It could be on the merits of their beauty, idiosyncrasies, or circumstance. The imitation may happen organically like Rugrat's Chuckie Finster being adapted to match Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, because he worked on the show's soundtrack. Or Larry David's alter ego as George Costanza? Sometimes momentous human events act as the genesis for X Characters. Malcolm X brought us Magneto since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were staunch supporters of the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s. And sometimes the counter-culture digresses for the underground, like Ursula from The Little Mermaid, being lifted from the shocking drag-Queen, Divine. Slimer lives on as the Ghost of Jim Belushi. Eric Cartman portraying an 8-year-old Archie Bunker, from the 70s show All in the Family. The Jungle Book came close to getting The Beatles involved as the Vultures. And Wolverine's countenance and demeanor were reaped from the actor Paul D'Amato, who played the hockey enforcer in Paul Newman's movie, Slap Shot. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. As there are countless other examples of notable celebs that have spawned their own X Characters. Homages are often fun and what's better when you've learned that your favorite actor is also your mint cartoon character or real-life superhero.
