Description: The Real Reason I Always Lied about Being Single - Everyone is allowed to set boundaries, in general and also in relationships. Setting boundaries is a healthy part of relationships! And we all need to be taught how to deal with the feelings that might arise from setting boundaries in a respectful, healthy way. I'm tired of women and girls having to lie about having a boyfriend!! A respectful 'no thanks' or 'I'm not interested' should not be a dangerous thing to say. This also means that everyone needs to be allowed and given space to talk things out and feel their feelings. Crying is not a "girly" thing; it's a human thing!! Also, there should NOT be any rules in our society about who is responsible for asking people out or initiating a conversation. These gender roles are ridiculous!! It should not be the "man's job" to ask women out! These gender roles hurt everybody in our society. It's time to set new, better conventions for ourselves that don't put people in boxes or tell them how they're "supposed" to act.
